Pathways is the local agency that manages publicly-funded mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse services for Gaston, Lincoln, and Cleveland Counties. Our primary responsibility is to oversee and manage a system of care for consumers and their families.
As a LME, Pathways is tasked with several system management functions. Pathways does not provide direct services to individuals. We connect consumers to a network of approximately 100 public and private independent direct-service providers delivering mental health, developmental disability, and substance abuse services. Through this effort, Pathways works with Providers to ensure that services are available in the communities in our catchment area, and that consumers have a choice from whom they receive their care.
