Starting as a small painting and paper hanging company in 1977, Charlotte Paint Company has grown along with the Charlotte area to over 160 employees focused on providing quality painting services safely and efficiently.
Our work experience in the Carolinas is unparalleled. We contract hundreds of projects each year and have worked on the buildings of BellSouth, Concord Mills, Hearst Publications, and several NASCAR teams.
We specialize in large-scale painting, wallcovering, specialty coatings, caulking and electrostatic spraying.
The Charlotte Paint management team has decades of experience in delivering projects in a timely manner. Our employees achieved 1 million safe hours in May 2006.

Our History

We started our company in November 1977 with fourteen (14) employees in a small farm house in Mt. Holly, NC.
Through continued growth, we now employee approximately 150 people and the little farm house now has over 6,000 square feet including two (2) warehouses for supplies and equipment.

Ownership Team

Doug Bess President:
Doug has twenty-three (23) years of service with Charlotte Paint. Doug previously worked three (3) years with McDevitt Street Bovis as a Project Manager. He worked for Laxton Construction for two (2) years in field supervision.
Sherrie Herndon Executive Vice-President:
Early in her life, she worked with N.C.N.B. She helped form Charlotte Paint Company in 1977 and has held the position of Secretary-Treasurer and President in past years. She has been with Charlotte Paint Company for twenty-nine (29) years.
Larry Garland Vice-President:
Larry has twenty (20) years of service with Charlotte Paint. Larry has twenty-nine (29) years experience in painting, waterproofing and restoration. He started working with his father as a painters helper during high school. After college, he returned home and was in business with his father for a period of years until his fathers death. Larry heads up our Pro-Tec Finishes Division.
Sam Henderson Vice-President:

Charleen Goolsby Secretary-Treasurer:
Charleen has fifteen (15) years of service with Charlotte Paint. She has twenty-six (26) years of accounting experience. She has held position of Secretary-Treasurer for several years of Charlotte Paint.
