In 1993, my sister and I opened Edible Art of Charlotte in historic Myers Park. Our goal was to bring Charlotte the same high quality birthday, specialty and wedding cakes that our Aunt Judy had been baking in Raleigh for over a decade. Using the same family recipes she developed, we opened in Charlotte, determined to carry on the tradition of creating high quality cakes.
The principles we learned from our apprenticeship with her have been incorporated into our approach today. From the simplicity of traditional birthday cakes to the intricacy of the most elaborate wedding cakes, the principles are the same: listen to our customer's needs, focus on details, and produce the highest quality cakes at the best possible value.

So, for all of your cake needs, I invite you to browse the following pages, gather ideas from some of our previous creations, or bring us your own ideas. We will do our best to create a cake that exceeds your expectations and lives up to our name.

Featured in the December Issue of Charlotte Magazine Slice of Almond Pound Cake Edible Art ($4) - Fork into this almond-flavored, three-inch-thick piece of heaven. But beware—it's addictive! While deliciously dense and extra moist, each bite tastes even better with the rich butter cream frosting that's piped into fluffy rows atop the generous serving. Trust us, you won't be able to put the fork down. 2900 Selwyn Ave., 704-342-2253

The latest publication to feature Edible Art is Kathy Reichs' Devil Bones. On page 100, "Dessert?" "Sure." He disappeared, returned with pie slices the size of warships. "Please tell me you didn't make this." "Banana Cream purchased at Edible Art." Thank you Kathy!
