Welcome to Large Animal Veterinary Services! We are here to provide quality veterinary care for your horses, cattle, sheep, goats, and llamas. Take a look around at our website. We have an excellent staff of veterinarians and receptionists to help you. We are also proud to offer future veterinarians the opportunity to accrue the necessary volunteer hours to apply to veterinary school. Please see the services section for more information.

Large Animal Veterinary Services was established in 1995 by Dr. Bob Rednour. It is a primary care veterinary hospital located in Youngsville, North Carolina (north of Raleigh). We provide medical care to horses, cattle, goats, llamas, and sheep. Our services include ambulatory farm calls, hospital appointments, hospitalization, breeding services, and minor surgical procedures.

Our veterinarian is Dr. Bob Rednour. Dr. Rednour is a member of several associations including the American Association of Equine Practitioners and the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association.

Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the reception area is closed for lunch from 1:00-2:00 PM daily

Evenings and Weekends: 24 hour emergency services are available for current clients

In order to make an appointment please call and speak to our receptionists during regular office hours. On evenings and weekends emergency services are available by calling our office and then paging the emergency veterinarian on call. After-hours appointments are made only for emergency treatments of your animal and it may be possible to arrange either ambulatory or haul in treatment depending on your situation.

We are located between Youngsville and Franklinton near US Hwy 1, convenient to Raleigh, Wake Forest, Oxford, Louisburg, Creedmoor, and surrounding areas.
From Raleigh and Wake Forest, travel north on Hwy 1. Turn right on Bert Winston Road just past intersection with Hwy 96. Turn left on Hicks Road. Our hospital is approximately 200 yards on the right.
From Louisburg, travel south on Hwy 56 into Franklinton. Turn left at the stop light onto Hwy 1A. Past the school veer left onto Cedar Creek Road. Turn right on Hicks Road. Our hospital is approximately 1 mile on the left.
From Henderson, travel south on Hwy 1. Turn left on Bert Winston Road just before the Hwy 96 intersection. Turn left on Hicks Road. Our hospital is approximately 200 yards on the right.
From Oxford, travel south on Hwy 96. Turn left onto Hwy 56 in Wilton. Once in Franklinton turn right onto Hwy 1A at the stop light. Past the school veer left onto Cedar Creek Road. Turn right on Hicks Road. Our hospital is approximately 1 mile on the left.
