DHIC, Inc.'s Homeownership Center has been chosen by St. Augustine's College to provide counseling and loan prequalification services to potential homebuyers as part of the East College Park Redevelopment Project.
St. Augustine's has received a $500,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to build ten new energy efficient affordable homes in the East College Park neighborhood, and to sell these homes to low- to moderate-income families.
DHIC's contribution will be to provide 30 potential homebuyers with individual credit counseling, homebuyer education workshops, and loan prequalification services, to help ensure first-time and lower income homebuyers are ready to take advantage of this new green building opportunity.
"DHIC has successfully collaborated with St. Augustine's College in the past, and looks forward to continuing our partnership through this project," says Sheila Porter, Operations Manager for DHIC's Homeownership Center.
