Brown & Thigpen Auctions is owned by Ada Brown and Lonnie Thigpen and operated by Ada Brown. We offer complete auction services. We are committed to providing the best service possible for our clients. As an auction company, we provide the highest level of professional service. Our ultimate goal is to satisfy you, the seller. Brown & Thigpen uses up-to-date technology to provide Internet advertising for your auction as well as detailed computer reports of items sold, buyer invoices and much more. We also specialize in personal property appraisals and can provide your attorney, CPA, bank, etc., with detailed appraisal documents. We can also provide full real estate services.
Auctions are held the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at 5 p.m. Our auction house is located 110 NE Railroad St., Wallace, NC, where we auction antiques, collectibles, used furniture and whole estates. Estate auctions and land auctions are held throughout the year on site or at our auction house. If you have a house, barn, or real estate with or without contents give us a call. We can handle your sale at our auction house or on site.
Ada T. Brown Wins Auctioneers Association of North Carolina Rookie Contest
On January 19, 2007 AANC held its Rookie Bid Calling Contest during the Annual January Convention at the Embassy Suites in Greensboro. Ada Brown was crowned the first ever female Rookie Champion.

The Rookie contest Friday evening had a record 12 contestants. The competition was intense with some real quality bid-calling. In addition to Ada Brown being crowned Champion, David Bailey of Newton was crowned Reserve Champion and Greg Bennett of Siler City was Runner-Up. Another first for the contest was cash prizes for the first 3 positions. Congratulations to the winners and to all of the competitors in the contest.
