Allstar and Ziggy again had nice top ribbons and Sir Lancelot in his first U.S. horse show as a hunter also did well. Our amateur riders again had lots of fun and continued to build on their success from October. Quite-L was amazing in the regular working hunters - as he prepares for upcoming Hunter Derby classes this winter. He took home 2nd place in the Handy round.
We also welcome rider, Laura Teodori , to the DK-USA Sporthorse team. Laura is currently riding as a part of the Nation's Cup team in Buenos Aries this week on her horse, Kasoar D'Uxelles , where she helped the team take home the silver. She took home first place at Del Mar a year ago in the $100,000 Grand Prix.
The Chronicle of the Horse , November 6th issue highlights two horses that DK-USA Sporthorse helped match with their riders: Lucky One with Lily Hahn, who rides with Vick Russell, and John Pierce on Chianto at Del Mar. Lily continues to do quite well and there is a great article of her at the Washington Indoors show ( page 13). John Pierce and Chianto take the 2nd place prize at the $50,000 Del Mar Grand Prix - very nice photo on page 21.
NC State Fair Horse Show: Our jumpers, Ticola, Borikor and Ballingowan's Aliby took home top ribbons in numerous classes. Very exciting, was the first outing of our two baby green hunters, Allstar and "Ziggy". Both were recognized appropriately for their style over fences and top movement. Top ribbons for both. We are also pleased with all of our amateur riders who did their best and had lots of fun. check out the gallery - more photos of these great riders to be posted soon.
Stedet's Leroy continues his upward and onward path - placing 11th in the Zeidler Financial Cup with 1 time fault at the Spruce Meadows Masters Tournament. Only 3 horses were double clean on the tough Leopaldo course. Ian Millar continues to shepherd his development into the international league.
DK-USA Sporthorse just came off a great horse couple of shows in Lexington, KY. Ticola competed in the Welcome Stake and was in the ribbons as well as attempted her first 1.50m Grand Prix. Borikor is maturing a lot -demonstrating his talent, and now potential ride ability for amateurs. He had several placings in both weeks. He is on his the international path. Leontes as usual took home many ribbons in the 1.30m level as he is super fast, careful, and always game. The perfect junior jumper! Thanks for Hardin Towell for his great rides on our jumpers.
Quite-L did a fabulous job piloting to a 1st, 2nd, and 4th place with his new owner. Doppleganger also put in some impressive Baby Green ribbons both over fences and especially under saddle. We are proud of all of our horses and riders.
