W. Thad Adams, III has been appointed to the International Trademark Law Association (INTA) Panel of Neutrals. The INTA Panel of Neutrals is the world's only international panel of neutral mediators who are both expert in trademark and unfair competition law and trained in the art of mediating disputes.

Adams has mediated attorney/client fee disputes for many years as a member of the Fee Dispute Resolution Committee of the Mecklenburg County Bar, and is certified as a mediator by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission. He is one of only two INTA Panel of Neutral Members in North and South Carolina.

With strategic legal counseling and tactical legal services ranging from mediation to aggressive court action, our firm actively pursues intellectual property rights protection for a wide variety of clients - both large and small - including inventors, technology crafters, entreprenuers and other intellectual property rights owners and developers.
Adams Intellectual Property Law is United States patent counsel for a large number of foreign corporations, many of whom have facilities in the Charlotte area. We assist both foreign and domestic companies and individuals in planning and executing overall patent and trademark strategy.
Due to the volume of international work done by the firm, particular care is given to the organization and maintenance of an efficient docketing system for our clients' intellectual property. Each docket date is docketed in three separate locations, including in a computer database.

Most of the firm's domestic clients are located in the Southeastern United States. They are involved in many diverse areas of business and include companies involved in the design and manufacture of textile machinery, hosiery and other apparel, filtration equipment, medical equipment and products, child safety products, power transmission equipment, jet engines, electronic controls, microprocessor-controlled audio and video tape winding and loading equipment, flooring products and aircraft passenger seats.
The firm also represents advertising and public relations agencies, record producers, computer programming specialists, a nationwide photographic film processor, trucking companies, a large fiberglass processor, a national restaurant chain, and the owners of an NBA professional basketball team.
Overall, approximately 50% of the firm's practice involves international issues. For this reason, we have very close relations with the international community in Charlotte, and therefore have access to information and services which are not normally available to those without such a large concentration of business in the international intellectual property area.
