It was at Lincoln Junior High School that Mrs. Midgett started her movement activities under Ms.Lazama as a cheerleader. In 1974 Mrs. Midgett graduated from Dudley Senior High School where she received a Presidential Scholarship and a Scholarship from The Greensboro Mens Glee Club for music. At Dudley, she participated in the dance, cheer, and flag girl program under the direction of Ms. Georgene Dye. As a member of the chorus and choral ensemble, she also served as piano accompanist. Mrs. Midgett is a 1978 HONOR graduate from N.C. A. & T. State University in Music Education. She was the piano accompanist in the music department. At A. & T., she performed in a few Broadway shows and performed with the university choir. She received her dance certification from UNC-Greensboro in 1989.

In December 2000, she received her Masters in Instructional Technology and works in the Guilford County School System as an Instructional Technology Facilitator. This year, she was selected as a delegate to attend the NCAE (North Carolina Association of Educators) convention and serves on the Resolution Committee for the state. In May, 2009, Mrs. Midgett received the prestigious North Carolina Principal Fellows Scholarship and is in the Masters of School Administration Program at North Carolina A. and T. State University.

The studio of Beryls Love Dance specializes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Pointe', Ethnic, Modern, and Hip Hop. Over the years, students from Beryls Love have had the opportunity to perform at the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center for Black History, Cultural Arts Festivals, and downtown City Stage Festival. Mrs. Midgett has also conducted workshops at some of these events. In the last two years, the studio orchestrated their own black history program and celebration. Her students have also had the privilege of performing on Walt Disneys stage and have attended various competitions. Former students and trainees assist in the studio. Mrs. Midgett continues to instill the value that dance education can and will have on students. She continues her education in dance by taking various courses and workshops.
