Bandera Architecture is a full service design firm. Founded in
1996 in Boston, Massachusetts. In 2002 the firm expanded to
include an office in Southport, North Carolina. Mr. Bandera received
his architectural training in Boston’s historic neighborhoods. This
provided him with the sensitivity needed to make any home or building
enhance its surroundings – whether it’s 18th century cobblestone
streets or 21st century oceanfront property.
Richard Bandera has been practicing architecture for nearly twenty-five
years and, since 1996, principal of Bandera Architecture. Mr.
Bandera is a member of the National Council of Architectural
Registration Board (NCARB) and has licenses to practice architecture
in North Carolina and Massachusetts. He continues to be a faculty
advisor at his alma mater, the Boston Architectural Center. He has
recently received his LEED AP certification and aspires to make all
projects environmentally friendly.
His experience includes the preparation of design plans,
specifications, and construction documents; analysis of building and
zoning codes; and presentation to zoning, planning and historic
commissions. His residential projects have ranged from a 500 sq. ft.
bedroom addition to a 23-unit artist condominium complex.
Commercial projects include kitchen showroom renovations,
professional office buildings, and private club facilities. For community
development organizations, he has prepared planning strategies to
assess area deficiencies.
