The Centre of Performing Arts first opened in Alamance County as the Eloise Glass Dance Studio in the early 1950's. Through the years we have grown from a one room studio to our present five dance rooms and dancewear shop. We offer the finest in quality dance instruction. Easy interstate access provides a convenient location for everyone in Alamance and surrounding counties.

Classes for beginner students from 1 year olds through adults provide a foundation for progress to advanced levels in many areas of dance, and we are always open to suggestions for new classes to meet the needs of our growing "family". Students can improve their dance skills by working toward acceptance into a variety of audition groups or the apprenticeship program for older students.
Through staff and student involvement, the Centre is active in Dance Masters of America. DMA is a leading national organization of dance educators and offers many opportunities for growth, for both students and staff.

As studio host for the statewide Carolina Dance Masters October Syllabus Study and Exam Week-end and the February Winter Workshop, we also look forward to seeing our students participate in the Carolina Dance Masters Fall Convention & Miss Dance North Carolina Pageant at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro.
For the past 5 years one of our students has represented Carolina Dance Masters at the national scholarship competition.
During July 2005 in Nashville, Karla Allen, CDM Petite Miss was 2nd runner up.
Helen Ann Woodard was a top 10 finalist in the Teen division.

Summer Classes & Dance Camp: A summer program is available for students who wish to continue dance throughout the year, and also provides a great opportunity for beginner students to discover dance or experienced dancers to try a new form of dance.

A week long dance camp is offered, designed to give the dancer a wide variety of dance styles and additionally focus on terminology, choreography, costuming and make-up.

3-5 year old day Mon. -Thur. with class in jazz, tap, ballet, acrobatics and pom.

Cheer camp with stunts, pom, dance team, and tumbling. Master classes in tap, jazz, ballet and hip hop add to the excitement of the summer program along with the back hand spring clinic.

Day Care and Pre School groups schedule: 1 to 1 hour acrobatic classes taught mornings or afternoons. Though usually held at the studio, special arrangements can be made for in house classes.

Birthday Parties: You provide the food, we furnish the games, fun & location. $105.00 for 10 children for 1 1/2 hour. There is a small additional charge for each child above 10. Choose from a variety of themes or customize a party to your own theme. Call the studio for more information.
