Menu By Melissa is Charlotte's Premiere Personal Chef Service proudly serving the Metro Charlotte area for more than ten years.

As a service, we plan a customized menu with meal options to meet your dietary needs and requirements. On the day of your choosing, Melissa goes to the grocery store and picks the freshest ingredients possible for your menu creation. She selects organic, free-range, and locally grown whenever possible. Melissa and her staff of professionally-trained chefs then prepare these meals on-site in your home. The meals are packaged to your exact specifications with nutritional analysis and finishing instructions included. For your peace of mind, Menu By Melissa is licensed, bonded, and insured.

The picture above represents two week's worth of meals with approximately 52 individual servings. Menu choices include individual and family-size portions of a Fresh Fruit Salad, Tomato Pasta Salad, Vegetable Beef Soup, Tomato Poached Pork (In Crock Pot), Thai Beef with Noodles, Chicken with Cheese Sauce, Currant Pilaf, and Fresh Vegetables.
Come home after a hard day to a clean kitchen and meals specifically tailored for you and your family. We accommodate your schedule and needs to provide a personal service which enables you to to enjoy your family's meals in a stress-free environment.

The cost is $40 per hour for one chef or $60 per hour for two chefs plus the cost of your groceries and any supplies. For your convenience, Menu By Melissa accepts checks, Master Card, Visa, and Discover. Please note, a 3% processing fee will be added to all credit card payments.

Melissa strives to accommodate your budget, schedule, and dietary requirements. She specializes in vegetarian and ethnic cuisines as well as preparing wholesome and nutritious menus that are gluten- or dairy-free, low sugar, low salt, and low cholesterol. She is delighted to prepare your favorite family's recipes, fulfill the needs of a medical diet, or you can choose from over 800 tried and true dishes from Melissa's private collection.

Melissa is delighted to speak to your group about healthy meal preparation in this hectic world of ours. She has presented to such groups as the Charlotte Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners, Charlotte Professional Sales Executives, and Mothers and More - Huntersville Chapter. References are certainly available.

She can also provide interactive hands-on cooking classes in the privacy of your home for your next company retreat, baby shower, or family reunion.

These cooking classes would be taught in a participant's home or other suitable location with the students helping to prepare menu items; participating in discussions; and finally eating the meal jointly prepared.

Dinner Tonight and Dinner Tomorrow: How to select and prepare a menu that allows for two or more meals with a variety of fresh ingredients. Meat and Vegetarian options will be discussed.

One Sauce and Four Ways: Using a simple White Sauce to create a variety of dishes from the easy to the elegant. Appetizer, Soup, Entrée, and Dessert options will be discussed.

The Secrets of Garnishing: Using simple techniques and tools plus readily-available ingredients the class will create several garnishes designed to add color and beauty to their next party tray or elegant dinner.

The Art of Small Foods: The History and Development of Appetizers will be discussed. A variety of small foods, including Canapés, Tapas, and Savory Tarts will be included.

The Comfort of Childhood Food: Discussion of “comfort” foods and the importance of food at family gatherings. Insider tips will be included to make those foods lighter in calories and fat grams without sacrificing taste. Menu items might include Potato Soup, Fried Chicken, Chicken Pot Pie, Macaroni and Cheese, Southern-Style Green Beans, and Chocolate Chip Brownies.

Life is Uncertain, Eat Dessert First: Discussion will include Desserts throughout history. The group will prepare several desserts from the easy to the elegant. Diabetic, Dairy-Intolerant, and Low Fat options will be included.

Ø The cost of these sessions would include labor, food, and any supplies in addition to any costs for use of space, i.e. a clubhouse or corporate kitchen.

Ø Groups who would benefit from these classes might include: Dinner Clubs, Family Reunions, Corporate Teams, Garden Clubs, Retirement Communities, Newlyweds, New or Soon-To-Be Parents, and, especially, Groups who like to get together to have fun and laugh out loud!
