I was appointed as a Magistrate in 1982. In 1989, I began work in private practice with a current member of the U.S. Congress.
In 1993, Ralph E. Nichols, P.C. originated. The bulk of the firm's work is in the field of family/domestic relations law, corporate law, personal injury, and estate planning. I have represented clients throughout Virginia in all state courts and various administrative forums.
I am very much aware that people want to speak with their attorney and not just a paralegal or a secretary. People are often coming to me with their lives very disrupted, and they may be in a state of shock or anger. My first goal is to always make people feel comfortable. I often ask people to give me their "wish list", and although I cannot make promises, I always want people to feel that they are fully informed throughout each step of the legal process. Further, I want them to have the assurance that they will receive honest, dependable, and dedicated legal representation.
