I’m looking for my forever home.
I’m a nine-month old Border collie mix, white with black spots. I am a very gentle and loving young girl. I have spent most of my puppyhood at Friends for Animals, so I’m learning what life and love is all about. Because of that, I can be a little shy at first (with people). I like to play with squeaky balls, and with sticks. I am leash-trained and am crate and house trained. I get along well with other dogs and cats. I love sleeping indoors, but also love to run outside. If you have a little patience, I will be the most loyal friend you could ask for.

Update: WHEW HOO!!!! HAPPY DANCE!
Tommy got his surgery thanks to those of you who cared enough to contribute and give him a second chance to live without pain.
We are thankful for your kind hearts.

For all of you that followed the story on Tommy and to those of you who so generously donated toward his hip surgery............here's an update. Tommy (TiTi) is recovering well. He is starting to decrease the limping and is using his leg more and more each day. Last Friday (1 week after surgery) he feels spunky and wants to play a little.

Thank you for your support!
Please help us to help the homeless, neglected, abused and discarded animals of your community!

Tan and white, neutered
very smart and well trained. Lived on a 6 ' chain for first part of his life and was starved. We are still working on his weight gain.

Talk about a great dog! - Joker is handsome and has a fantastic personality! He is great with other dogs and is very friendly with people. He is playful, outgoing, and very loving. Joker is extremely intelligent and is learning his obedience and agility quickly. He will be a wonderful companion to his new family.
Joker is neutered and up-to-date with routine shots

Joker had a great trainer (David) in the cell dog program.
Joker, take a bow...

In a world where millions of pets are euthanized due to overpopulation, it’s critical to do your part. PLEASE SPAY/NEUTER!

Help a chained dog .
It has been scientifically proved that all animals (even fish) have central nervous systems designed to feel pain and stress for the purpose of increasing their chances to survive. Knowing that, why would anyone take the suffering of any animal lightly just because it is not human. Pain is pain...suffering is suffering...having a heart and empathy should be emotional responses all humans should be enlightened enough to or strive to possess . Have a heart, please. Save the innocent from any more suffering and take the time and your power to do so.Be a better human being.
If you care about me Unchain my heart...
This year, show them that they matter... and that you care.
You have the right to remain silent....while they suffer.

IT'S A REALLY GOOD DEAL !

SAVE A LIFE! It will do you both good!
For any kitten under 1 year of age: $75. Adult cats (1 year and older) : $50.
Includes all vaccinations and spay/neuter !

Cats are very affectionate and love to cuddle with you.
Having a cat can reduce your blood pressure and prevent heart disease.
Cats are very clean -- they bathe themselves!
Cats are independent and can be left alone while you are at work.
Cats do not need to be housebroken -- using the litter box comes naturally to them.
Cats do not need a lot of space. They are perfect pets for apartments and smaller homes.
Taking care of a cat can help teach a child responsibility and humane values.
Cats get plenty of exercise living indoors. Just 15 minutes of playtime each day will satisfy a cat.
Approximately 4 million homeless cats end up in animal shelters every year in the United States. ADOPT A CAT OR A KITTEN. You’ll be saving a life.

Don't forget to stop by Animal Control below us on Kirksey Drive to check out the pets on death row. These pets are euthanized if not claimed or rescued. If you see one you want to adopt, Friends For Animals can rescue the pet for you so that you can adopt it.
It hurts us terribly that approximately fifteen to twenty five animals are euthanized daily at the Animal Control shelter due to too many homeless animals and not enough room to save them all.
