The physicians of Piedmont Urology Associates, Todd D. Cohen, M.D., Robert L. Waterhouse, Jr., M.D., Manish P. Patel, M.D., and Kelly Shaffer, M.D. are dedicated to providing the highest quality care throughout the community. Our doctors offer the most up-to-date services in urologic care. Our services range from the treatment of prostate cancer, with new innovative techniques such as robotic prostatectomies, cryo therapy, brachytherapy seed implants, to pelvic prolapse (bladder, rectum, uterus, or bowels “falling down or out”), and complex voiding and incontinence problems often untreatable by conventional medicine or surgery. These include various neuromodulation techniques such as InterStim therapy and outpatient reconstructions. Our fellowship-trained physicians offer expertise in both management and prevention of kidney stone disease. The latest surgical treatments for urologic cancers, such as kidney and bladder cancer using minimally invasive approaches are offered as well.
Piedmont Urology is also the area’s choice for uncomplicated urologic problems such as benign prostatic diseases, urinary tract infections, infertility, and erectile dysfunction. Although most of our care is provided in the office setting, we do service Gaston Memorial Hospital, Carolinas Medical Center, Presbyterian Hospital, and Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville to meet all patient needs, preferences, and insurances.
