Caldwell Baptist Association located in Western NC, is a community of
76 Southern Baptist Congregations that cooperate together in order to fulfill the Great Commission.
The month of October is a time designated each year to express appreciation to pastors and church staff serving churches in the Caldwell Baptist Association. Some churches honor their pastors and staff at other times of the year, such as work anniversaries. The time is not as important as the act of doing something. Please take time to express appreciation to your pastor and other church staff as well. A gift, a note, a special service or a dinner can offer much needed encouragement to these servants of the Lord.
Associational Emphasis Week
The week of October 22-29 has been designated as Associational Emphasis Week in the Caldwell Baptist Association. This is a time to focus attention on the various ministries of your local Baptist association, one of approximately 1,200 affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. It is also a time to celebrate the birth of the association, which falls at the beginning of the emphasis on October 22. It was 125 years ago (1885) when it all began in the Rocky Springs Baptist Church in Collettsville. If you would like someone to speak about associational missions in your church, please call the Baptist Center at 758-4081.
A Time for Thanksgiving
Stores are already focusing on Halloween and will soon be promoting their Christmas items. Unfortunately, very little emphasis is placed on Thanksgiving. Of all the nations upon the earth, the United States should spend a lot of time giving thanks. Our ancestors saw the need of doing so and created this special holiday. Please take time to give thanks on the fourth Thursday of November and everyday, because God has certainly blessed us in abundance.
Please give generously to the annual Thanksgiving Offering for the Baptist Childrens Homes of North Carolina. North Carolinas largest family needs our continuing support. Also, remember the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions. Southern Baptists are blessed to have 5,296 international missionaries serving around the world. The Cooperative Program and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering provide the support they need to take the gospel to the ends of the earth.
