New Habitat Project

On Oct. 9, St. Andrew held its first Cana Celebration, a special Mass celebrating the Sacrament of Marriage. Couples renewed their vows during Mass, and they and their families enjoyed a reception in the Fellowship Hall. Sara and Joe Cione performed the honors of cutting the wedding cake. Thank you to Jennie Kirschbaum, Daryle Steffens and Ross Tucci for organizing the event for our parish!

Work to restore the farm and school buildings in Haiti continues to progress. The condition of the goat barn is very good. It is currently being used as a school while local schools are being built. The barn will be returned to the goats in spring 2011 when school construction is completed.
A message from our friends in Haiti: "Having the goat barn so the kids could go to school has been such a blessing. The goat barn has also been used as a community center since it was the only major structure that remained largely undamaged in the area. In addition to school, several funerals have also been held in the barn since the earthquake. St. Andrews support has been critical to the success of getting this area back on its feet again after the quake." Full report from September visit to Haiti

CPO Thank You
Thank you so much for all your hard work on the food drive. Your parish donated 5600 pounds of groceries and $4,180 for families in need! Please send our thanks to the parish and all the volunteers who helped. CPO is blessed by your dedication to serve the less fortunate.

Brown Bag Thank You
Brown Bag Ministry would like to extend a huge thank you to the parish in support of Nicholas Pizzurro's Eagle Scout project to collect back packs for the ministry. Nicholas set out to collect 100 back packs to be distributed to those in need and had an overwhelming response. We are very proud of Nicholas and his efforts and are very blessed to be a part of the St. Andrew parish. In listening to Matthew's gospel, "Ask and you shall receive", St. Andrew parishoners certainly did their part when asked. The success Brown Bag Ministry can be attributed to the generosity of so many indivudals, many right here in this parish. We ask that you continue to pray for and support this ministry as we continue to answer God's call, "for when I was hungry...."God Bless. The Brown Bag Ministry
