Arrowhead Hunting Preserve is in a transitional phase. Spike Smith has worked for Peace-n-Plenty Hunting Preserve since 2000. In 2001, he became operator upon David Lancaster's death. An experienced hunter, Spike became very involved at Peace-n-Plenty to make service and quality #1. It was important to have the best birds, the best hunting guides and the hunter to leave very satisfied. In 2002, Spike added his personally owned farm in Pitt County, North Carolina into the Peace-n-Plenty acreage as a part of the Preserve mostly for deer hunting and dove hunting.
As of 2007, Spike has left Peace-n-Plenty Hunting Preserve and is now focusing on moving his business to his farm... naming it Arrowhead Hunting Preserve. The farm borders Swift Creek and Indians camped out on the hill next to this creek; therefore arrowheads can be found with little effort.
Arrowhead Hunting Preserve consists of approximately 2000+ acres. Deer, wild ducks and preserve ducks, pheasant, chukar, quail and turkeys are available for hunting. Spike is ready to welcome everyone to Arrowhead Hunting Preserve, offering the same quality and service.
Spike started his hunting career at a very young age with his father, Austin Smith, placing him on his back, picking up the lantern and heading out for the woods at night. His father was an avid coon hunter. His father had numerous dogs: plot, blue ticks, black and tans and treeing walker hounds. This was the beginning. Spike hunted coons until 1992 and had grand champion coon hunting dogs. He also hunted and continues to hunt deer sporadically. Recently, his interest involves turkey hunting. Hunting is and always will be an integral part of Spike's life.
