Asheville’s Oldest and Finest Tutorial Service Helping Students Achieve Success in Learning since 1982.
Arden Reading Clinic is well-known as a full-service tutorial which specializes in teaching students with learning differences. Differences among all students vary along a continuum from very mild to severe. Some students have single areas of weakness while others have multiple deficits. Students range from simply needing a boost in a specific subject area to requiring more structured systematic teaching.
We encourage early intervention and our success lies in giving a full hour of one-on-one tutorial with direct instruction, 2-5 hours per week. All students are assessed on an individual basis and an educational program is created based on individual needs. At Arden Reading Clinic we partner with you in your child’s education. Tutors and students remain together until programming is completed. We often consult with schools, principles, and counselors to create a more comprehensive team approach. We love to teach and are committed to each individual success.
Teachers at Arden Reading Clinic hold a minimum of an undergraduate degree and many have master degrees or are working towards higher educational degrees. Please be assured that your child’s teacher is a professional, nurturing teacher, qualified to raise your children’s grades and their self esteem. Each teacher participates in intensive training before becoming a tutor for ARC and continues to undergo ongoing training in specific research-based teaching methods as new curricula is developed.
Arden Reading Clinic offers student instruction in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Study Skills, Vocabulary, Test Prep, SAT Preparation, and Multi-Sensory Language and Math Skills. Instruction that is multi-sensory employs all pathways of learning at the same time: seeing, hearing, touching, writing, and speaking. We use multi-sensory instruction as a foundation for all teaching areas because it is research based and enhances memory and learning.
Arden Reading Clinic collaborates with home-school parents and students. We provide educational consultations regarding curriculum and assist with the end of the year testing. Our Executive Director, Dr. Marcy Sirkin, offers achievement and I.Q. testing using the Woodcock Johnson III and consults privately with you or the school regarding the most appropriate educational programming.
Arden Reading Clinic continues to be successful helping thousands bridge the gap between achievement and true potential. To join the ARC team please call or email us: 828-658-9448 or arclinic@verizon.net.
