Amateurs and professionals alike will find many angling opportunies whether in the surf, off the pier or on a charter boat.
There are also opportunities to explore the history and lore of the Outer Banks. From the 16th century explorations of Sir Walter Raleigh to the predations of German U-boats during WWII, Cape Hatteras has seen much history just offshore, and sometimes onshore. Known to mariners around the world as the "Graveyard of the Atlantic", the treacherous waters required the building of the world's tallest brick beacon. The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse with it's distinctive spiral stripes is one of the country's best known landmarks.
