One of the most frightening situations for a pet owner to face is the untimely injury or illness of a beloved family pet. Many times, these situations occur during hours when the family veterinarian is unavailable during weeknights, weekends and holidays. The Animal Emergency Clinic of the High Country, PLLC is a facility specially equipped to handle the urgent care needs of pets on an after-hours basis. Located in Boone, NC, this regional referral center serves pets and their owners in the North Carolina and Tennessee mountain communities.
The clinic is staffed and equipped to handle any small animal emergency situation. Patients may also be transferred from regular hospitals to the emergency clinic for overnight observation if your veterinarian feels that supervision is necessary. Pets requiring ongoing treatment or continued care will be transferred to your regular veterinarian at the earliest possible time.
Appointments are not necessary, however, phone calls in advance will allow our staff time to prepare for your arrival. Every effort will be made to see your pet as soon as possible, but please be aware that emergencies will be seen in order of severity. Routine procedures such as vaccinations, spay / neuter surgeries, etc. are not performed at this facility. Emergency clinicians are affiliated with the American Veterinary Medical Association, the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society.
