Park Road Books is Charlotte's oldest continuously operated independent bookstore.
We're well stocked with a wide variety of best sellers, children's books and classic
literature as well as books by local and regional authors.
If you can't make it into our store you can order from this website and have books
shipped directly to you, or you can order and request "store pickup".
We'll call you to let you know when your order has arrived, usually within two or
three business days.
Thanks for shopping with us and supporting your local bookseller.

There will be restrictions. Books must be purchased at Park Road Books (unless you've already purchased at Joseph Beth). Mr. Ohno's crew is all about efficiency in the line, so that every customer who wants a signed book gets one, so he will not be able to personalize books or pose for photos. Again, please understand that this is the publisher's requirement, not ours. You still can take pictures of Mr. Ohno, as long as you keep the line moving.

Why shop Indie?
When you shop at an independently owned business, your entire community benefits:
Spend $100 at a local business and $68 of that stays in your community. Spend the same $100 at a national chain, and your community only sees $43.
Local businesses create higher paying jobs for our neighbors.
More of your taxes are reinvested in your community--where they belong.
Buying local means less packaging, less transportation, and a smaller carbon footprint.
Shopping in a local business district means less infrastructure, less maintenance, and more money to beautify your community.
Local retailers are your friends, neighbors--support them and theyll support you.
Local businesses donate to charities and events (especially local ones) at more than twice the rate of national chains.
More independents means more choice, more diversity, and a truly unique community.
Now is the time to stand up and join your fellow individuals in the IndieBound mission supporting local businesses and celebrating your independents.
