Welcome to the Outer Barks... celebrating our 77th year (in dog years that is !) The Outer Barks is located in the Scarborough Lane Shoppes (the building behind Fishbones restaurant) in the heart of Duck, NC. We offer a huge selection of unique gifts and supplies for the dog lover, plenty of roaming/sniffing room for our four-legged friends.

The Outer Barks offers a great selection of collars and leashes for dogs of all sizes. We offer Ruffwear for the outdoor warriors, the awesome hemp collection for Earth Dog, and the beautiful selection from Up Country. Looking for great toys? We have toys for the beach, home and everywhere between with toys by West Paws, Ruffwear and Tuffy's. Love fine arf? We carry the entire line of Stephen Huneck,Sara England and Purebred Editions. We also offer a fine life of sterling jewelry by Island Cowgirl. The Outer Barks offers a large selection of organic and all natural treats, including many wheat, corn and soy-free treats. Our own line of delicious treats are wheat and corn free and baked weekly!

The Outer Barks is also home for the popular Yappy Happy Hour. Once a week between Easter and Thanksgiving, the Outer Barks hosts a free party for all canine friends. The parties feature frozen doggie daiquiris, puppy pasta, cake and other delicious treats, as well as an agility course, paw painting and baby pools. In the Fall we move Yappy Hour to Saturday mornings. Please see our calendar below for more information. Bring your dog(s) and join the fun!

The original Outer Banks "Pictures With Santa Paws" returns this year. This year's event will mark our 10th year for this fundraiser. The event will be held on Saturday, December 4 from 9am - 5 pm. This year's event will benefit the Friends of Pooh Canine & Feline Cancer Fund. Please call 252-261-6279 for an appointment.
