Kenpo karate originated in northern China nearly 800 years ago. At G-Force we still teach a lot of those old techniques along with a blend of modern training. This makes for one of the most safe and effective systems in the world today. G-Force has been named one of the Top 200 Schools In North America - recognizing it as a high quality training center.
What makes Chinese kenpo different than other martial arts?
Chinese kenpo is a Self Defense based karate system. Each stance, kick, strike, and kata movement can be interpreted as a specific defense from various attacks. Chinese kenpo is a combination of hard and soft styles. Hard styles (like Tae Kwon Do and Okinawan Karate) incorporate rigid movement with quick and powerful blocks and strikes while stances are primarily used for rooting or setting a stationary position. Soft styles (like Kung Fu and Tai Chi) use circular flowing motions for srikes. Stances are used for adding balance, which can add power to strikes and locks, or taking balance away from your opponent. This combination creates a complete system for all levels of defense.
Our Goal is to improve our students as a whole by creating a positive attitude and atmosphere to train.
