Our practice has been in the Wilmington area since 1987. It was founded by Drs. Scott and Melodye Visser as Cape Fear Family Practice. The practice relocated to it's current address at 4141 Shipyard Blvd. in July 1995 when Dr. Robert R. Johnson Jr. joined the practice. Mark Hollingsworth joined our practice in the Summer of 2002 as our new full-time Family Nurse Practitioner. He will be seeing patients for rountine care as well as urgent care issues. Dr. Jeremy Holdsworth, a former Air-Force physican, joined us in late 2005 and also does hospital care at New Hanover Regional Medical Center along with Dr. Scott Visser and Dr. Johnson.

Our practice of Family Medicine encompasses such areas internal medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, dermatology, adolescent health care, and sports medicine. We see patients from birth up through above 90 years-of-age. Our office offers physicals, routine care of medical illness, office based procedures, and "urgent care" visits for our established patients.
We are now offering FRAX (fracture risk) assessment with our bone density testing. The data estimates the risk of fracture over the next 10 years and was developed by the World Health Organization.
We are now offering computer-assisted check-in to more efficiently serve you. You may also still use the old-fashioned method if are not comfortable with touch-screen computers.
