I've been in the optical industry for 28 years. I started working in an optical laboratory in 1977 and decided to pursue my career further and enrolled in a four-year apprenticeship that was approved by the NC State Board of Opticians. In 1984, I took my State Board exam and became a licensed Optician in 1985. I was the first woman in the Wilmington Laboratory to get my Optician License, paving the way and opening doors for other women in the area to pursue the same career path. In 1989, I received my certification from the Boston Academy of Opticians and passed the National Contact Lens Exam.
This business has been rewarding to me in many ways. I have always enjoyed working with the young and old alike to help them see. I have made it my number one goal to provide them the best quality glasses, lenses, and contact lenses that are going to help them in their everyday life. In our glass dispensary, Myrtle Grove Optical, we carry a wonderful selection of designer frames, including:
We also use the very best quality lenses and laboratories that can supply most of your optical needs from Transition progressives to the thinnest materials for lightweight glasses. All coatings are also available including anti-reflective scratch coatings, mirrors and flash.
