Speech Pathology Services of Robeson was founded by Linda Aldridge Smith in 1979.After years of experience in clinical settings, she chose to leave her position as Director of Speech and Hearing Services in an acute care hospital to open a private practice. She chose Lumberton for several reasons including it's easy access to the beaches of North and South Carolina, as well as the need for speech services in the area. In 2004,
Speech Pathology Services was purchased by Ken and Jennifer Stephenson. Jennifer graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders, and went on to obtain her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology. After completing her externship with Linda at Speech Pathology Services, Jennifer partnered with a prvite practice in Wake County while Ken worked with IBM in Business Management. Their decision to return to Robeson County was an easy one given their ties to the community and the desire to make a positive impact there.
Our goal is to ensure that all of our clients receive the best possible treatment in a friendly, professional, and caring environment.
