Growing up in a family business devoted to superior quality wood products, Patrick FitzGerald's interest in hardwoods started at an early age. As a young boy in Chicago, many of Patrick's first memories were of watching his father pack up veneer sample crates to call on some of the nation's largest wood product manufacturers. From lumber to veneer to plywood and wood components, all were shipped from his family's plants around the country to suppliers around the world.
Since the age of sixteen, Patrick spent his summers in Norfolk, VA unloading Mahogany from rail cars for the family business. In 1980, they hired him on as the Yard and Operations Manager. In 1983, he was promoted to Vice President Sales and Procurement, which allowed him to travel throughout the country as well as to South and Central America over the next 11 years.
Wanting to break out on his own, Patrick founded his own company, FitzGerald Wood Products, Inc. in 1994. With an initial emphasis on marine clients, he supplied hardwoods such as Teak, Mahogany, Cherry, and Ash to leading boat builders in the US.
The business later shifted to serving primarily architects and contractors, focusing on commercial and residential interiors. We are a wholesale distributor supplying to architects and contractors throughout the US.

Patrick brings creativity mixed with expertise and knowledge of a large global corporation and puts it into the hands of the architect and contractor. He personally works with you and your customer to create an integrated and cohesive package that meets your flooring, lumber, decking and specialty needs.
