Alec Macbeth, PG, a senior geologist at Altamont, is leaving our company to return to northwest Florida to be closer to his family. Alec is joining a small minority-owned environmental firm, Trinity Analysis and Development, with complementary expertise and experience to those of Altamont. The two companies plan to join together our strengths to provide a broad range of environmental services across the southeast.

Altamont co-owner Joel Lenk has been asked to sit on the board of directors of a new non-profit organization called The Pisgah Center. The Pisgah Center will provide transitional living and support services to youth 16 years and older who are exiting the juvenile justice system and lack a stable and supportive home or community. Support will be provided in the areas of education, life skills, career development, mental health, and social services.

Altamont’s Principal Owner, Stu Ryman, has been elected chair of the Cradle of Forestry Interpretive Association (CFIA) Board of Directors.
