New English Translation of the Roman Missal
The Holy See has approved the new English translation of the Roman Missal submitted to it by the US Bishops. The new texts will be mandatory on the First Sunday of Advent 2011. Between now and then, parishes throughout the English-speaking world will be preparing for the change through clear catechesis. The Mass is our central act of faith. Therefore, it is incumbent upon each of us to continually renew our knowledge of our Catholic faith and seek to better understand its richness and beauty. With this in mind, I would encourage each of you to visit the USCCB website (http://www.usccb.org/romanmissal) to learn more on your own. The material found there is easily accessible and will be an opportunity for you to study and pray as we prepare for Advent 2011.
