Assistance League of Charlotte is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families through community-based philanthropic programs.
In 2009-2010, 139 members generated 33,905 hours of community service to local children, and 516 non-members contributed 13,234 hours. Funds raised are returned to the community through five philanthropic programs: Operation Check Hunger; Operation School Bell®; Mecklenburg County Teen Court; Assistance League of Charlotte Scholarship Fund and Assistance League Outreach.
Assistance League of Charlotte was founded in 1992 and is the 93rd chapter of National Assistance League®.

National Assistance League is a nonprofit organization that puts caring and commitment into action through community-based philanthropic programs. Founded in 1935 in Southern California, National Assistance League empowers volunteers through a strong network of 119 local chapters across the United States, each meeting changing needs in their own communities.Last year, Assistance League volunteers invested more than 2.6 million hours and returned $35 million to communities across the nation.
Fundraising, supports Assistance League of Charlotte philanthropic programs and is made possible through private and corporate donations and grants. The fall Savor the Season fashion show and luncheon and spring philanthropy luncheon provide additional funding along with proceeds from Assistance League of Charlotte Thrift Shop.
