PRAISE GOD, FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW On Sunday, the 15th of August, Burney and I had the privilege of announcing the results of our “Here We Grow Again” campaign. The news we shared with you was nothing short of miraculous. God has done some great things in the life of Aldersgate Church, and we were able to celebrate another one of those Jesus sightings.
Maybe you could not be present, so here are the results we reported on August 15. 142 family units committed a total of $725,588.50 to the “Here We Grow Again” campaign over the next 36 months. The breakdown is as follows. We committed $274,737 in the six months period (July 1 – December 31, 2010). Our Finance Committee and Church Council challenged us to raise $700,000 in this period as a down payment on the building expansion plan. In the second phase of the campaign we were challenged to raise $375,000 over the next 30 months (January 1, 2010 – June 30, 2013). We committed $450,851.50 over this period. These results proclaim that God has done an amazing thing through Aldersgate. In a very difficult economic time when others would have been fearful, we moved forward boldly in faith. God has blessed this faithfulness through these amazing numbers, and we have declared we want to move forward with our ministry expansion plans.
My goal for this campaign was $700,000. You surpassed my expectation, and I believe this was possible, because our Finance Committee and Church Council challenged us to go where Aldersgate has not gone before. That challenge was to raise a significant amount of money upfront to defer future interest costs.
On June 30, 2010 we had $123,000 available in our “Here We Grow Again” campaign fund. Check the bulletin each week to find the total received to date for this campaign. Watch us move forward in our giving to make this dream a reality. After December 31, 2010, we will report back to you about our progress.
Based upon all the numbers reported above, we can expect to have $850,000 available over the next 36 months for the “Here We Grow Again” ministry expansion plans. “Praise God, From Whom all Blessings Flow. . .” Through you God is making a difference in our lives, in our children’s lives, in our grandchildren’s lives, and in the lives of some “poor, wayfaring strangers” yet unknown to us, but precious in God’s sight.
