Ultimate Canine Care and Nikima Shibas is the culmination of many years of hard work, passion, and education in the dog world.
ABOUT THE OWNER: A lifelong resident of North Carolina, Mike Zimmerman moved to Alamance County in 1977. In 1978 he purchased his first show dog. An Akita, Champion Frerose’s Nikima of Kim Sai. Since that time he has trained, bred, and shown over 20 dogs to their championship titles in both obedience and confirmation.

Mike has been a member of The Alamance Kennel Club for over 20 years, currently serving as club vice president. He has instructed obedience classes in both group and private settings. Mike specializes in behavior analysis and modification.

In 2003 Mike and his wife Carolyn purchased 10 acres in Graham, North Carolina to build a commercial boarding, gooming, training center, Ultimate Canine Care. In the fall of 2003 Mike went to grooming school to become a certified groomer. In the summer of 2004 we began construction on the first phase of our boarding facility. This facility was completed in the fall of 2004. In December 2004 Alamance County Chamber of Commerce held our official Ribbon Cutting. Early in 2006 we completed phase two of our boarding facility which doubled our kennel size. June 1, 2009 we expanded once again to add an in-door training room, doggie day care and separate cat room. This expansion was due to the great number of new customers that have brought their pets to our facility. We thank God for allowing us to serve Alamance County and we are also thankful for each and everyone of you!!!
