Welcome to the Blue Pelican Gallery in Hatteras Village, on beautiful Hatteras Island, at the southern tip of the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Our mission is to create a peaceful yet exciting destination for you to slow down to our Island pace and enjoy the beauty of the beaches, ocean, birds, wildlife, dunes, sunrises and sunsets, and more, that our unique home has to offer. We feature art and artistic gifts in many different media. Our primary focus is showcasing the art of Outer Banks and North Carolina Artists. We also are proud to represent work by American artists who either live on or have ties to the east coast.
The Gallery is located in a Hatteras-style home built in 1950 (some of the wood was salvaged from shipwrecks along the beach), and renovated in 2005 by new owners Jennifer and Dan Johnson. Outside, the porch invites you to sit and slow down to our Island pace in comfortable rocking chairs. Inside the Gallery, the heart-pine floors and beaded wood walls and ceilings are a perfect backdrop for many forms of art, showcasing the beauty of the Outer Banks and beyond.
We all have our time machines. Some take us back, theyre called memories. Some take us forward, theyre called dreams.
If you have always dreamed of visiting the Outer Banks, or if you are a regular visitor who carries cherished memories of family time at the beach, or if you are lucky enough to live on the Outer Banks...we have something for you!
We invite you to come on in and visit a while. Enjoy browsing our extensive selection of fine art prints and cards, photography, pottery, metal, glass, stained glass, jewelry, tiles, cutting boards, ornaments, hand-carved birds, CDs of local music, gifts and much, much more... Some of our local artists include gallery owner Jenn Johnson, Antoinette Gaskins Mattingly, Stephanie Kiker, Scott Geib, Patty Zukerowski, Taz ONeal, Caitlyn Gray, John Fuzz McCormack, and Russel Blackwood.
