Dear Fellow Ministers,
How do you deal with expectations? I tend to make myself (and others!) waiting for what I expect to happen to actually happen. As we move into the season of Advent, we are going to talk about how we handle expectations as they pertain to God. I invite you to read through Matthew 24:36-44 as God forms a sermon in us. Jesus is teaching here about how believers should have expectations, but we will also find in this scripture how easily we can be distracted by things that are not the main issue.
I look forward to a Holy Advent as we do our best to move deep into our faith. We invite you to the following:
Hanging of the Greens, Saturday, November 27, at 9 a.m. at the church
Thursday, December 2, meet at5 p.m. at the Plaid Sheep Yarn Shop to hand out free coffee/hot chocolate to parade goers in Canton
Sunday, December 5, Preaching Service at 9 a.m.; Children's Program at 11 a.m.
December 5 - 12, we have transportation and devotion responsibilities for the Night Shelter
Sunday, December 12, 9 a.m. Preaching Service; Chancel Choir Cantata at 11 a.m.
Sunday, December 19, special music and preaching at both services
Friday, December 24, 4 p.m. Family Service (with Communion); 11 p.m. Candlelight Service (with Communion) led by Praise Team
Sunday, December 26, 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Afterglow of Christmas Worship Services
Friday, December 31, Supper, fun, games, all start at 6 p.m., then worship at 11.m.
I look forward to being in ministry with you!
