The store has been a part of the community for more than 50 years and Mountain Market sustains its original friendly General Store atmosphere. With the entrance to the Uwharrie National Forest only 1-1/2 miles away, our central location to the recreation areas enables us to better serve all our customers needs. We are your one stop shop for passes to access the National Forest ATV trails and shooting range. We offer convenience store items, along with gas, fishing baits, lures, rods, gold panning equipment, camping equipment, firewood, fishing and hunting licenses, wildlife check-in and much more. We offer free maps of the Badin Lake Recreation area. Our staff is very knowledgeable of the area and on the difficulty of trails and safety equipment necessary for you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit. We are also the ONLY place you can purchase beer and wine in Uwharrie.
Arriving at Uwharrie National Forest, better known among locals as the reservation, you will immediately feel the stress of big city life left behind.
